A new community by Empire Continental Land based around the serenity and beauty of nature is set to make its debut in Hutto next year.

Flora, a master-planned community, is located in the northeast part of Hutto and is 835 acres. By the time it is fully built out, there will be 2,800 single-family homes. Being just outside of Austin, the city landscape is never far, but residents are able to live a relaxed lifestyle being surrounded by the outdoors.

“Flora is all about appreciating the simple things,” brand marketing manager Claire Galati said. “It's about a return to your roots—where nature and thoughtful design come together to help residents live their truest, most authentic lives. It has a botanical feel and an earthy palette which really makes the community feel like an extension of the land.”

Flora also boasts a large amount of luxury amenities, all centered around The Market Square, a 5 ½-acre amenity site designed to contain everything residents may need without having to step outside of the development.

Amenities include:
  • Bloom House: Flora’s central hub that includes a game room, coffee bar and coworking spaces
  • The Well: a resort-style pool that features a deep blue bottom with a shallow beach entrance
  • Fitness center
  • Primrose Park & Splash Pad: a vibrant kids zone where they can enjoy swings, slides, climbing structures and playable fountains
  • Parks and trails
  • Welcome center with onsite lifestyle director
  • The Haven: outdoor patio and lounge with fire pit
“When we design our amenities, we consider how our residents will actually use them," senior land manager Joe Grabinski said. "Our goal is to create experiences that cater to every stage of life throughout the community. That's why we're already constructing a comprehensive range of amenities, which will be ready for our first residents to enjoy soon after they move into Flora, rather than waiting for years.”

Phase one is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025 and will feature seven different homebuilders: Brightland Homes, Empire Communities, Highland Homes, Meritage Homes, Perry Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Westin Homes.

Having a variety of homebuilders will allow for residents to choose from a wide range of product sizes designed for first-time homebuyers, growing families and move-up buyers.

“From a master-planning standpoint in Hutto, we're ushering in a new era of community," marketing manager Matthew Gombar said. "Our vision for Flora is to create a space where residents can prioritize their well-being and family life, supported by amenities designed to foster both personal growth and engagement”
