Looking for something fun to do in Allen this month? Check out these seven events happening in September. This list is not comprehensive, and events are subject to change.
1. All Elite Wrestling
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center is hosting an evening of professional wrestling. The event will feature live matches from both AEW Collision and AEW Dynamite. Attendees can view the venue’s bag policy online.
2. Books and Brews
The Allen Public Library’s monthly book club is meeting to discuss “The Bell Jar” by Sylvia Plath at The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
3. Joe Farmer Recreation Center’s 30 Year Celebration
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Joe Farmer Recreation Center, the Allen Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an event with carnival games, giveaways, a magician, neon pickleball and more.
4. Ford Pool Pup Plunge
Individuals can bring their dogs to swim at Ford Pool before it closes for the season. Dog owners must bring proof of their pets’ rabies vaccination for entry. Attendees can register for the event on the Allen Parks and Recreation Department website.
5. Heritage Village Open House
Visit the Allen Heritage Village to learn more about the city of Allen’s history. Tours are available every third Sunday of each month.
6. Southern Couch Band
Listen to live music at Watters Creek Village. Southern Couch Band plays classics from the '60s through the '90s. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
7. Trivia night
Chicken N Pickle is hosting a trivia night covering pop culture, history, sports and more. Individuals can purchase food and drinks from the restaurant’s menu, which includes chicken tenders, fried pickles, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches and more.
