Need something to do this weekend? Here is a list of five events happening in the Allen area Aug. 21-23. This list is not comprehensive and events are subject to change.
1. Free pet adoptions
The Allen Animal Shelter is waiving all pet adoption fees all weekend as part of Clear the Shelters, a national pet adoption campaign. Available dogs and cats can be seen online.

2. “Game Of Thrones” trivia night
The Brass Tap is hosting a “Game of Thrones” trivia night. Guests can enjoy themed cocktails and will have a chance to win prizes.
3. Live music at The Grove
Local musician Jacy Penland is performing at The Grove at The Village at Allen. Attendees should bring a lawn chair or blanket.
4. Visit the Allen Depot
Learn more about the city of Allen’s history at the Allen Depot. Permanent exhibits include the Houston & Texas Central Railroad, Allen Station Master Office, Ebenezer Allen and more.
5. Live music at Watters Creek Village
Last Call featuring The Top Shelf Brass will be performing at Watters Creek Village. Guests can purchase food and drinks from nearby restaurants and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
