Here are five events happening in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area May 29-31, including Olympic figure skating in Allen and a Polynesian festival in Frisco.

1. Stars on Ice in Allen
Stars on Ice will bring live figure skating performances to Allen and feature Olympic medalists, including Alysa Liu, Ilia Malinin and Amber Glenn, who hails from Plano. The event will also showcase choreographed solo and group routines.
2. Global whiskey pairing dinner in DentonHannah’s Off the Square will host a five-course global whiskey pairing dinner with selections from Kentucky, Japan, Scotland and Mexico. The 21-and-older event includes chef-curated dishes paired with international whiskeys.
3. Polynesian festival in FriscoKaleidoscope Park is hosting a Polynesian festival that will have live entertainment with hula performances and a foam party. Attendees can also explore a vendor market offering Pacific Island flavors, handcrafted goods and unique items.
4. ScaleFest model competition in GrapevineScaleFest will bring model builders from across a five-state region for a competition and exhibition with scale models of aircraft, armor, ships and more. The event includes junior divisions, awards for Best of Show and category winners, as well as vendors at the Grapevine Convention Center.

5. Frozen yogurt event in KellersweetFrog Keller Town Center is hosting an event featuring character meet-and-greets, face painting and frozen yogurt to celebrate a new flavor launch in partnership with Disney television show "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir." The first 50 guests will receive free frozen yogurt, and attendees can meet characters Ladybug and Cat Noir, along with sweetFrog mascots Scoop and Cookie.
