1. The Salven Kitchen serves Nepali flavors in Roanoke
The 206, a brewery and food hall in Roanoke, is now home to a Nepali sekuwa barbecue restaurant called The Salven Kitchen.
The restaurant offers charcoal- and wood-smoked meats and has craft beer on tap, according to a social media post from the restaurant.
The Salven Kitchen offers a meat platter and skewers with a variety of protein choices like chicken, steak, pork, goat and water buffalo. In addition, The Salven Kitchen has catering options, such as box lunches and hot trays.
Tayta Peruvian Restaurant is now open in Richardson.
Tayta is a family business serving authentic Peruvian food, owner Diego Florez said in an email. Menu highlights include ceviche, made according to a recipe Florez learned while traveling the Peruvian coast, and pollo a la brasa, roasted chicken cooked in an oven Florez said he brought to the restaurant from Peru.
“We designed everything so that every customer takes a little piece of Peru with them,” Florez said.
Tayta also operates a location at the food hall Revolving Kitchen in Fairview.
Tous Les Jours is now open in McKinney, a company representative said.
The French-Asian bakery sells breads, cakes, sandwiches, pastries, doughnuts, coffee, tea and smoothies, according to its website. Tous Les Jours also has a Colleyville location.
4. Ono Hawaiian BBQ to open its first Texas location in Plano
A new restaurant with Hawaiian-inspired plate lunches, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, is opening its first Texas location in late July.
Ono Hawaiian BBQ has a variety of meat options like Hawaiian BBQ chicken and beef, chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, Island white fish and fire chicken, crispy shrimp and kalua pork. Some of its sides include Spam musubi, rice and crab rangoon.
Restaurant and entertainment venue The Hub is closed in Allen, founder and CEO Brad Zeitlin said in an email.
The Hub opened in 2022 within mixed-use development The Farm near SH 121.
“The total spend in the submarket is not adequate to support the current concept, causing the challenges we faced,” Zeitlin said.
The restaurant offered a variety of food and beverage options, including tacos, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, margaritas, beer and more, per its website. The Hub also hosted events.
“Thank you to the over half a million people who came to share time with us,” Zeitlin said.
