Several Thursday night meetings have updates to some of the year's biggest developments on their agendas.

City of Round Rock

In Round Rock, Kalahari Resort & Conventions will be one of the area’s largest entertainment, hotel and convention developments. Kalahari, city officials say, will help diversify the city’s tax base. Several issues are before Round Rock City Council at its meeting, set for 5 p.m. at City Hall, 221 E. Main St., Round Rock.

Council members are expected to vote on several financial agreements for the land, hotel, convention center and indoor/outdoor water park.

The project is expected to include a 975-room resort with a 200,000-square-foot water park and a 150,000-square-foot convention center.

City of Pflugerville

In Pflugerville, City Council and the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. will hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. to consider options for Hawaiian Falls Pflugerville water park.

It was announced earlier this week that Source Horizon LLC was in default of an agreement and payments to the PCDC. Since September, the PCDC has made payments on the $25 million loan, backed by the city of Pflugerville.

The meeting will be held at 100 E. Main St., Ste. 500, Pflugerville.

Pflugerville ISD

At 7 p.m., Pflugerville ISD trustees will discuss replacing Superintendent Alex Torrez, who was placed on administrative leave Monday by the board of trustees. Torrez announced his intention to resign when his contract expired in September 2017, but the board took action five days later to put Torrez on leave, effective immediately. The meeting will be held at the PfISD administration building, 1401 W. Pecan St., Pflugerville.

Hutto ISD

In Hutto, City Manager Odis Jones attends his first official City Council meeting, which will feature a mosquito-abatement update from the Williamson County and Cities Health District.

Hutto had multiple mosquito samples test positive for the West Nile virus. No human cases were reported in the city, but spraying and other abatement programs were used in September and October.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 401 W. Front St., Hutto.
