Select a community below to see a comprehensive list of all the local ballot items for the May election. Races that appear on your ballot may differ according to where in the community you live. Only contested races in Community Impact Newspaper's coverage area are included.

How to register to vote

To be eligible to vote in Arizona, you must:

be a United States citizen;
be a resident of Arizona and the county listed on your registration; and
be 18 years of age or older on or before the day of the next regular general election.

You cannot register to vote in Arizona if:

you have been convicted of a felony and have not yet had your civil rights restored*; and
you have been adjudicated incapacitated by a court of law.

*Note: For a first-time felony conviction, civil rights are automatically restored upon completion of a person's sentence and payment of any restitution.

To be eligible to vote in Tennessee, you must:

be a United States citizen;
be 18 years of age or older on or before the date of the next election;
be a resident of Tennessee; view guidelines for determining residency and special considerations for homeless persons residency and nonresident property owners; and
if you have been convicted of a felony, your eligibility to register and vote depends upon the crime you were convicted of and the date of your conviction. If your conviction made you ineligible, you may regain your eligibility if your conviction has been expunged or if you have had your voting rights restored, unless you were convicted of a crime that rendered you permanently ineligible to vote.

In order to participate in an election, a qualified voter must be properly registered no later than 30 days before the election. The election commission office will process any by-mail voter registration form that has been postmarked at least 30 days before the election.

To be eligible to vote in Texas, you must:

be a United States citizen;
be a resident of the county where you submit the application;
be 18 years of age on election day;
not be a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation and parole); and
have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

What to take with you to the polls

Voters in Arizona can present one form of identification from List 1 or two different forms of identification from list 2 or 3:

List 1: sufficient photo ID including name and address (one required)

Valid Arizona driver license
Valid Arizona nonoperating identification card
Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
Valid United States federal, state or local government-issued identification

List 2: sufficient ID without a photograph that bears the name and address (two required)

Utility bill of the elector that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election; a utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone or cable television
Bank or credit union statement that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election
Valid Arizona vehicle registration
Indian census card
Property tax statement of the elector's residence
Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
Arizona vehicle insurance card
Recorder's certificate
Valid United States federal, state or local government-issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the county recorder
Any mailing to the elector marked “Official election material”

List 3: mix from lists 1 and 2 (two required)

Any valid photo identification from List 1 in which the address does not reasonably match the precinct register accompanied by a nonphoto identification from List 2 in which the address does reasonably match the precinct register
U.S. passport without address and one valid item from List 2
U.S. military identification without address and one valid item from List 2

The following is a list of photo ID options voters can use at the polls in Tennessee, even if expired:

Tennessee driver license with your photo;
United States passport;
photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security;
photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government;
United States military photo ID; or
Tennessee handgun carry permit with your photo.

The following is a list of photo ID options voters can use at the polls in Texas:

Texas driver’s license;
Texas Election Identification Certificate;
Texas personal identification card;
Texas handgun license issued by DPS;
United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph;
United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph; or
United States passport (book or card).
