Bakery owners make transition to new community

After operating in the Cypress and Copperfield area for about a year, the husband and wife team of Jen Rockey and John Burns relocated their business—Frosted Bakery—to Main Street Tomball in July 2012. Since the move, business has been increasing at an unprecedented pace, Rockey said, as Cypress customers continue to patronize her shop while the Tomball customer base grows.

"Even though it's a bit of a drive for them, we've had a lot of our customers make the move with us," she said. "They enjoy the old town spirit here."

Frosted, which specializes in creating custom cakes for a variety of occasions, also boasts nearly 40 different cupcake flavors at any given time. The display is stocked with traditional flavors, such as strawberry shortcake and butter pecan, as well as a rotating array of seasonal flavors, such as eggnog and pumpkin pie. The Frosted team comes up with a new flavor every couple of weeks, Rockey said.

Over the past year, Frosted has received recommendations from an influential source on several occasions, Rockey said.
