David uses a technique called "negative positive positive," Andrea said, in which after correcting the dog's behavior, he awards it two positives through treats and encouragement. The dog learns if it behaves correctly, it will receive two rewards.

Circle K9 can board a total of 20 dogs, with only 10 in the board and train program to allow for a more effective experience. Andrea said she and David hope to build indoor and outdoor combination runs for dogs that allow them an individual indoor and outdoor space.

"Our quality of training is excellent," she said. "When people come back, they come back to a dog that is fully trained. We transition the leadership to the owners, and they can follow up with us."
