Bobby Westfall opened his own driving range in September 2012 in Tomball after his career as a golf club pro and director of golf came to an end.
Westfall worked for more than 50 years in that capacity at various golf clubs in Houston and West Texas and has been a lifetime member of the Professional Golfers' Association of America since 1963. Westfall also played on both the regular and senior PGA Tour, but he never advanced past the Monday qualifying round.
"I was always a pretty good player," he said. "But the guys on the tour, they are really, really good."
Westfall has made a career in golf, and even after being told he was too old to be a golf pro and director of golf at many golf clubs, he found a way to keep pursuing his dream.
