1. The Tomball ISD Board of Trustees will hold a workshop tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Creekside Park Junior High, located at 8711 Creeksdie Green Drive. The board is expected to hear a variety of reports, including an early college high school update and the district improvement plan. TISD's regular meeting will follow Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the John P. Neubauer Administration board room, located at 310 S. Cherry St. Tuesday's agenda includes two public hearings regarding TISD's rating on the State Financial Accountability System and TISD's application for becoming a district of innovation. 2. The Magnolia ISD Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 6:30 at 31141 Nichols Sawmill Road for its October meeting. According to the posted meeting agenda, the board will hear a variety of reports, including those regarding the high school voter registration initiative and the district bond funds. The board will also hold a public hearing on MISD's State Financial Accountability rating. 3. The Magnolia City Council will hold its October meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The council is expected to consider an agreement with the Houston-Galveston Area Council DWI Task Force and a resolution naming the FM 1488 and FM 149 flyover as "Butler's Crossing," as well as other new city business. 4. Deacon Baldy's, a family-friendly bar and food truck park, will have its grand opening Friday, Oct. 14. The eatery, located at 5451 FM 1488, Magnolia, had its soft opening on Oct. 8. 5. Residents of Harris and Montgomery counties have two days left to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election. The deadline to register, which can be done online, is Tuesday, Oct. 11.
