Preview: Tomball ISD to review transportation update, approve board of trustees election dates

The Tomball ISD board of trustees is set to review and approve multiple agenda items at its Aug. 10 workshop and Aug. 11 regular meeting. Some of the items set to be discussed include student conduct, transportation updates and approval dates for upcoming board elections in November.

Items worth mentioning

At the Aug. 10 regular workshop meeting, the CISD board of trustees will review multiple reports, including the new Student Conduct Guide by Director of Administrative Services Karen Graves.

Also on the agenda is a transportation update from TISD Chief Operating Officer Steven Gutierrez. As previously reported, TISD was unable to comply with the recent seat belt ruling from the Texas Senate. The ruling dictates that all school buses moving forward must be equipped with three-point seat belts.

During the Aug. 11 regular board meeting will be reviewing multiple items on the consent agenda. Key items of the agenda include officially approving dates for board of trustee elections for positions 1,2,3 and 4 for Nov. 3.

Also on the agenda, the board will review multiple renovation contracts to replace heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment at Akewood Elementary School and Willow Creek Elementary School. The total for both projects would be $1.6 million, with 2025 bond funds covering $70,000 as a contingency budget.
