Memorial Hermann Health System purchases 40.3 acres in Beacon Hill development in Waller

A new exit ramp and frontage road are currently under construction and will provide direct access from Hwy. 290 to Beacon Hill by fall 2025, according to the news release.

A deeper dive

Over the past decade, Waller County’s population has surged 40% to more than 66,000 and is projected to reach 120,000 by 2040, according to the Houston-Galveston Area Council.

Employment in Waller County has risen by 15% since 2020, reflecting steady economic momentum, and most recently, companies like TMEIC Corp. Americas, Tesla, Grundfos, Grainger and Daikin are expanding, adding thousands of jobs to the area. Additionally, Waller County’s commercial tax has expanded by 25% in the last five years, according to the news release.

More than 21,000 new housing units are planned for the Waller ISD area by 2028, according to the news release. According to the Houston Association of Realtors, Waller home sales increased by 49.3% in 2024.

Warren Ranch High School is a new high school in Waller ISD and is expected to open in 2028. Over the next decade, the Waller ISD student population is projected to nearly triple, reaching 27,000 students, according to the news release.
