Goat Maddness owner Chris Madden said he learned the skin care benefits of goat milk from his mother-in-law, Linda Faith, who 13 years ago began making products such as lotion and hand soaps from her goats’ leftover milk.
“She started giving them to her friends as gifts just because we were trying to use the milk and we didn’t want it to go to waste,” Madden said.
After his mother-in-law’s death and more than five years of selling the products in various fairs, Madden said his family was inspired to open a brick-and-mortar shop as a way to continue the legacy of what Faith started years ago. Goat Maddness opened on Market Street in Tomball in August 2019, offering products such as skin care items handmade from goat milk, beard oils and Goat Maddness apparel.
“We had all these great products, and the benefits of goat milk are just phenomenal, and it was one of those things that we didn’t want to fade away,” Madden said.
