Tomball Bowl prepares to open after renovations, restrictions

When its doors had to be closed following county and state orders during the coronavirus pandemic, Tomball Bowl co-owner Janet Holmes said it gave her the chance to renovate the business.

“We had plans to [renovate] but being closed just seemed to be the right time, since we had to close anyway,” she said.

Holmes runs the business with her husband Scott.

Holmes said interior renovations are being completed now, and the renovations will give a facelift to the business. A private party room will be available soon, she said, and more renovations are in the works.

Holmes said Tomball Bowl will also now be completely smoke-free inside the establishment.

Tomball Bowl is still temporarily closed, as the business was not part of the first phase of Gov. Greg Abbott’s plan to reopen the state, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported.

Holmes said the couple looks forward to opening soon and thinks that will be an option for phase two of the governor's plan on May 18.

“As long as they don’t change anything, if the state doesn’t change anything, that is our plan,” she said.

Tomball Bowl’s Facebook page and website will provide updates to customers on when the bowling alley is back open.

In the meantime, patrons can take a look at some of the renovations being done via Tomball Bowl’s Facebook page.

“People that have been here are excited,” she said. “They want to come in and see what the changes are.”
