The Shabby Heart owner Caroline Kaplan said she opened a brick-and-mortar for her former online boutique on Dec. 14 in Downtown Tomball.

Former Houston Police Department officer Kaplan said she founded The Shabby Heart in 2016 as an online boutique offering clothing and accessories. After retiring as an HPD officer, she said decided to follow her passion for fashion with a brick-and-mortar store for her boutique.
“I actually am a retired HPD officer. I did that for 30 years, and I always had a passion for having a boutique,” she said. “I studied a little bit of fashion merchandising before I was actually an officer, and then went to a whole different line of work. And this is something I always wanted to do.”
