Jaime Groff said opening a home decor store had been a longtime dream of hers, as she is passionate about interior design. In July 2017 Jaime and her husband, Brian Groff, opened Home & Ranch Outfitters in Old Town Tomball. The boutique primarily sells home decor and gift items. Previously the shop sold menswear as well, but Jaime and Brian moved that inventory this summer to Commerce Street Clothiers, a new men’s clothing store located next door. “Interior design [has] always been a passion and a dream of mine,” Jaime said. “I had worked in the area for about a year and realized there was a serious need for men’s apparel, and so when we opened this store we decided to mix in some men’s clothes.” Every item for sale in Home & Ranch is handpicked by Jaime, ensuring that everything sold meets her standards for quality, she said. “We try to find those one-of-a-kind lines or brands that have a story behind it, either born in Texas or in the United States,” she said. “We seek those lines out that are hard to find—I want something with a wow factor or that has a story behind it.” The business community in Tomball has been a large part of Home & Ranch’s success, Brian said. “We all feed off one another; we all help each other, and that’s important to us because it’s a small town and we all need each other,” Brian said. With Home & Ranch just reaching its one-year anniversary and the couple having opened Commerce Street Clothiers this summer, the Groffs said they are unsure of what is next. While they both want to see the businesses grow, Jaime said it is important to her that she builds a relationship with her customers. “We all want to grow, that’s a part of business,” Jaime said. “I want to know my customer. I want to know when they have a new baby or [are] getting married. I don’t want to lose that scope and connection, but with that I want growth. So it’s just finding that balance, so who knows what this will grow into.” Home & Ranch Outfitters 108 Commerce St., Tomball 281-826-3801 www.homeandranchoutfitters.com Hours: Tue.-Sat. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun. noon-4 p.m., closed Mondays
