The Woodlands Township seeks input for transit plans

This study will assess strategies to enhance transit services across the fixed-route Americans with Disabilities Act paratransit and commuter bus transit services, enhance driver retention, and assess the possibilities for extending service across various regions, according to the release.

In addition to the Town Center Trolley service's regular route, The Woodlands Township also offers ADA Complementary Paratransit Service for those who are unable to use the standard Town Center Trolley.

The Woodlands Town Center Trolleys operates year-round, seven days a week, with the exception of some holidays. The free service connects The Woodlands Mall, Market Street and Hughes Landing with Town Center businesses and residences throughout the service area.

The Woodlands Express service operates Mondays through Fridays, excluding holidays, from three park and ride lots in The Woodlands. Destinations include the Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, the Central Business District of Houston and now the Energy Corridor.

The Woodlands Township asks community members to participate in the virtual town hall meeting April 27 from 6-7 p.m. During the meeting, community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and express their concerns. An RSVP is not required to attend, according to the release.

In an interactive map on The Woodlands Township website, community members are able to indicate where they usually frequent and where they would like transport to in The Woodlands Express commuter bus or the Town Center Trolley.

According to the news release, feedback from the public is open until May 15. Details on the transit plan are available in The Woodlands Township website along with the interactive map of the service area. Members of the community are also encouraged to participate in the trolley feedback survey available on the website to help improve transit plans.
