The Woodlands Township celebrates the 40th anniversary of The Woodlands Oct. 19 with a celebration that includes an art competition, Village Association representations and interactive timelines.
The festivities include family-friendly activities from 3–8 p.m. Activities include inflatables, food and music vendors and live music. The music theme is designed to span the 40-year period from the music that was popular when The Woodlands was being developed in the 1970s to the current hits of today.
"The bands represent the decades of music from the years The Woodlands was established to the present time," said township chairman Bruce Tough.
The Rush tribute band Subdivided, School of Rock and The Woodlands' own Will Makar will perform.
