photo courtesy The Woodlands TowTownship Rather than spend up to $2.7 million on renovations for Fire Station No. 2, located on Gosling Road in the Village of Cochran's Crossing, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors is instead considering razing the nearly 30-year-old facility to build a new one.
At its Aug. 28 meeting, Joiner Architects presented two renovation options to the board: a $2.7 million major renovation and a $1.5 million minor renovation.
The minor renovation included renovating the office areas, living quarters and restrooms, while the major renovation would have made those improvements, expanded the apparatus bay and added a second floor exercise room.
However, Fire Chief Alan Benson said neither proposal would extend the life of the facility more than about 10 years.
