The filing period for candidates to submit applications to run for a position on The Woodlands Township board of directors ended Monday at 5 p.m. While four positions were up for re-election this year, only three are contested and will be included on the ballot during the Nov. 6 election this year. Incumbent Township Chairman Gordy Bunch is unopposed in this year's election and is expected to retain his position for another two-year term. The last day to register to vote is Oct. 9 and early voting for the November election begins Oct. 22 and runs through Nov. 2.
