Updated Jan. 16 at 12:20 p.m. In response to today’s winter weather that has hit southeast Texas, several roads in The Woodlands area have been partially and completely shut down due to icy conditions. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory on Monday for the area effective from 3 a.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, which has since been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning due to a wintry mix of sleet and snow. Here are a few area lane and road closures to be wary of when driving today:
11:50 a.m. update: Current road closures in Precinct 3: -Lake Robbins Drive from Anadarko to I-45 in both directions. -Woodlands Parkway bridge from Many Pines to Robinson Road. -Lake Woodlands bridge over Lake Woodlands is closed in both directions.
