With more than 50 years of knowledge in the restaurant and hospitality industries, Bob Ham designed the menu at La Trattoria Tuscano around food he makes in his own kitchen at home—comforting Italian dishes with fresh ingredients.
"Most of these dishes I came up with [using] my own ingredients," Ham said. "These are dishes that I created for myself that when I sit down to eat, I fix it myself."
Ham opened La Trattoria Tuscano in The Woodlands in October 2009. He decided to open his own restaurant after years as the director of restaurants for Specialty Restaurants Corporation, which operated eight restaurants in four states.
"I was traveling so much that they wanted me to relocate to Florida," Ham said. "Instead of traveling, I came back and lived here. So I decided that what The Woodlands really needed was a local Italian restaurant."
