Photo by Brian Walzel Todd and his wife Corey Hayden opened Hop Scholar Ale House at 610 Rayford Road in May with the concept of bringing craft beer to south Montgomery County.
"This place has been starving for craft beer," Todd said.
When the bar opened in the spring, it featured 27 craft selections on tap. Today it has 39, Todd said. Among the selections are nitros, ciders, IPAs and lighter beers, among many others.
Hop Scholar's No. 1 seller is Bombshell Blonde, which hails from the Southern Star Brewery in Conroe, where Todd used to work.
