Residents interested in serving on one of The Woodlands Township's village associations or the Residential Design Review Committee can file for the positions from Dec. 31-Jan. 21, according to a news release from the township. Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Jan. 21 for the Feb. 20 elections.
Residents and property owners in The Woodlands age 18 and older can file for the positions, and filing forms are available at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov, from village association presidents or at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the release.
The design review committee will include up to five members for each village, who each serve a one-year term. In the Village of Indian Springs, two geographic areas are each represented by a separate committee. The committee members review applications for property improvements to keep them within design standards in the township.
The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is 5 p.m. Jan. 27. Elections without contested races as of that date will be canceled, and the vacancies will be filled per the association or committee's bylaws, according to information from the township.
