Montgomery County's active COVID-19 case count dropped by two July 21 as its cumulative case count rise of 102 was offset by 104 new clinical recoveries.
Of the county's 5,169 cumulative cases as of July 21, 2,407 remain active, including 1,575 residents in self-isolation and 55 resident hospitalizations. The status of 777 additional active cases has not yet been confirmed as the county's contact investigations continue.
The 100-plus new recoveries reported July 21 brought the county's recovered case total to 2,608, just over 50% of all cumulative cases reported.
A total of 226 people—regardless of county residence—were hospitalized in Montgomery County facilities as of July 21, an increase of three since yesterday. Of those, 166 are in general or isolation beds, and 60 are in ICU beds, according to data from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council.
