June 10 The Lone Star Animal Welfare League will host a raffle drawing for a craft beer basket—valued at $125—at GenuWine Tasting Room. June 10 The King of Swing Charities will host the 17th annual Christopher James Newton Memorial Weekend, benefitting the Houston area Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter. Chris Newton grew up in Texas and died in a car accident in 2000. His family and friends have continued gathering annually to benefit charities in his name.
