As part of a citywide effort to continue retaining and attracting police officers and firefighters, Missouri City will increase pay beginning in May.

Missouri City City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance to increase pay for city police and firefighters at an April 22 special City Council meeting, following the first reading April 15.
Pay increases are slated to be up 4.4% for police officers with a new base of $68,110 and up 2.4% for firefighters for a new base $61,936, according to agenda documents. The last pay increase, which was approved in May 2023, set bases for police and firefighters at $65,237 and $60,484, respectively.
