Missouri City approves $1.86M purchase agreement for new golf carts

“It’s not only a profit maker, if you don’t have them, it’s a profit loser,” Salazar said. “You can’t make money if you can’t service the clients.”

The details

The contract includes 60 monthly payments of $21,040, as well as a lump-sum payment of $487,450 and an additional $1 payment to finalize the purchase and registration, to be paid for by the golf courses’ operations fund, Salazar said.

The 60-month lease term comes out to $4,698 more a month than the current contract, while giving Quail Valley nine additional carts and four total beverage carts. Additionally, the new fleet will generate more revenue and require less maintenance.

Also of note

Additionally, agenda documents show Missouri City has $448,047 in outstanding payments for its current fleet of golf carts. However, as part of the agreement, Yamaha has offered to buy those 126 carts for the same amount, canceling the city’s commitment to future payments.

Salazar said Yamaha will give the city a two-week timeframe to get the golf carts in working order before accepting them.
