Summer of Sound
Throughout June until Fourth of July weekend, Oyster Creek Park hosts live performances each Saturday night. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and shop with local vendors.
Nonprofit Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation—organized by late Missouri City council member Don Smith—celebrates the June 19, 1865, freedom announcement to 250,000 enslaved Black Americans in Galveston Bay, Texas. The two-day music festival at Hunters Glen Park features musicians Triple Threat, Alexander O’Neal, and Step Rideau and the Zydeco Outlaws.
Celebrate Father’s Day with a gun class at the historic George Ranch. Attendees will learn to load and shoot replica flintlocks and percussion rifles that date back to the Alamo in three different classes.

Red, White and Boom
This Independence Day celebration takes place at The Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land. It features activities for residents of all ages, including live music, food and drinks, photo stations, carnival games, inflatables and concludes with a fireworks show.
