Woodbranch Village city officials working to replace 3 key positions

Woodbranch Village officials have been working to train employees or find replacements for three key city positions that were recently vacated.

In a nutshell

During Woodbranch Village City Council’s regular Oct. 22 meeting, the council accepted the resignation of former City Administrator Charlotte Smith. Smith’s resignation is effective as of Sept. 28, according to meeting documents. 

In October, former City Secretary Shari McMinn submitted her resignation, according to meeting documents. In late September, former Municipal Court Clerk Cassandra Stewart also submitted her resignation.

Woodbranch Village’s city secretary position reports to the city council and is supervised by the mayor, according to a job posting for the position on the Texas Municipal League’s website. 

Woodbranch Village’s municipal court clerk serves alongside the municipal court judge and prosecutor, according to the city’s website. Judge Tim Rose sits on the city’s municipal court while Kenneth LaVergne is the prosecutor.

Going forward

Deborah Loesch is serving as the interim city secretary, according to meeting documents.

On Oct. 23, the council discussed the training process for the new municipal court clerk. 

A future special session may be called for more discussion on training the new employees.
