Fort Bend ISD celebrates 'Welcome Back' week, prepares for teacher-facilitated learning

March 30 was the first day of online learning engagement in Fort Bend ISD.

Deputy Superintendent Diana Sayavedra said at the March 23 board of trustees meeting that this week will act as a "First Week of School," when families will receive instructions about how to best manage online learning at home.

Teacher-facilitated instruction will begin April 3.

On March 30, the district also said it was experiencing technical issues with Schoology, its learning management system. However, in an afternoon tweet, the district said Schoology has resolved the issues and is continuing to monitor the situation.

Additionally, FBISD is working to distribute technology to students in need based on previously collected survey responses. The district is also sharing information with parents on how to access low-cost or free internet.

FBISD has announced that in-person classes and school-sponsored activities are suspended through at least April 10.
