Richmond’s Harvest Green community was named Best Overall Community More than 600 Acres at the 2021 Texas Association of Builders Texas Star Awards on July 15. The yearly competition aims to showcase the work of developers, builders, remodelers, architects, designers, sales professionals and marketing professionals in the construction industry.
“To have the Texas Association of Builders recognize our uniqueness and name us the best in Texas is an incredible honor,” Harvest Green General Manager Jerry Ulke said in a press release. “Home sales in our community have been outstanding due to the healthy-living amenities we offer. We look forward to welcoming more residents as our community grows.”
In addition to being named Best Overall Community More than 600 Acres, Harvest Green was a finalist in the Best Community Amenity, Best Community Clubhouse and Best Website categories.
With 1,930 acres of land, Harvest Green was Houston’s first agri-hood—meaning a neighborhood that intentionally integrates agriculture for its residents. It features a 12-acre farm with an orchard, a greenhouse, homes for goats and chickens, seasonal produce sold on-site each Saturday and a vineyard managed by Messina Hof. Residents can participate in the neighborhood Farm Club, have backyard gardens and even rent plots of land at the farm. Additionally, the master-planned community offers a fresh produce delivery through a local community-supported agriculture program.
