Dr. Jacquelyn Minter, director of Fort Bend County Health and Human Services, said in an email to Community Impact Newspaper that the recent daily high case counts are not being classified as a spike.
Instead, Minter said the high cases counts June 3 and 4 were administrative in nature, as the county received an increased number of reports of new coronavirus tests from the state during those days. These tests were collected between March 29-June 4, she said.
On June 3, 4 and 7, the county reported more than 80 cases each day, higher single-day totals than the county has reported since early April.
