Recently appointed Spring ISD trustees Carmen Correa and Natasha McDaniel are each running unopposed in the Nov. 2 election.
Correa, who represents Position 6 within the district, and McDaniel, who represents Position 7, were appointed to the board in August after former trustees Donald Davis and Jana Gonzales retired in July.
Following the announcement that Davis and Gonzales were retiring, the district put out an official call for applications from qualified candidates to fill the two unexpired terms. The district and the board reviewed applications and met with potential candidates before voting on the appointments.
Correa, who graduated from the University of Phoenix with a global business management degree, is a 22-year resident of the district and longtime SISD volunteer where she served as parent co-chair of the SISD Student Health Advisory Committee.
