Houston's fifth annual Black Restaurant Week returns July 10-19 with 15 participating restaurants.
Founded in 2016 by Warren Luckett, Falayn Ferrell and Derek Robinson, the 10-day event aims to showcase the flavors of African American, African and Caribbean cuisine nationwide while celebrating the best in culinary arts, according to the Black Restaurant Week website.
This year, the annual event has expanded to include Black-owned food trucks and catering companies in addition to Black-owned restaurants throughout the Greater Houston area. Additionally, participating patrons can play Black Restaurant Week Bingo and vote for their favorite participating eateries for a chance to win prizes such as restaurant gift cards, culinary treats and cash prizes.
