For 15 years, Pregnancy Help 4 U has served individuals and families in North Texas who are facing unplanned pregnancies. Its core mission is to provide life-affirming support through practical resources and personal connection.
The organization offers a wide range of free services, including:
- Pregnancy testing
- Sonograms performed by medical professionals
- Access to essentials, such as diapers and wipes
But for many clients, the biggest challenges extend beyond pregnancy itself. Among the most common needs staff encounter are financial strain and lack of a support system.
Because of this, the organization emphasizes emotional, educational and, if desired, spiritual support. Staff work to understand each client’s unique situation, whether financial instability, lack of housing or limited access to health care, and connect them with additional community resources.
These include:
- Job assistance programs
- Food banks
- Housing support
- Referrals to medical providers
During pregnancy and once the baby is born, clients are encouraged to participate in parenting classes offered both in person and online. These classes, often taught in collaboration with other local agencies, focus on building confidence and equipping parents with practical skills.
The classes also create opportunities for connection. While services are provided confidentially, group settings allow parents to meet others navigating similar experiences, helping reduce feelings of isolation.
In recent years, the organization has expanded its reach to include more support for fathers. A dedicated male staff member now works specifically with men, offering guidance and connecting them to resources that support their role in the family.

Over the years, Thomas has seen steady growth in both the number of clients served and the scope of services offered. From increasing access to sonograms to expanding educational programs, the organization continues to adapt to meet rising demand.
That demand is significant. In the past year alone, Pregnancy Help 4 U served more than 2,000 clients, performed over 1,500 pregnancy tests and conducted more than 1,400 sonograms.
The organization’s impact is also reflected in the decisions clients make after receiving support. Many who initially feel uncertain or overwhelmed choose to continue their pregnancies, supported by the resources and encouragement they receive.
Ways to get involved
Community involvement plays a key role in sustaining the organization’s work. Volunteers assist with everything from administrative tasks to one-on-one client care, and donations help fund services.
One of the most accessible ways to contribute is through the year-round baby bottle campaign, where individuals or groups collect spare change and donations in provided bottles. Online donations are also accepted as a part of this campaign.
The organization also invites community members to tour the facility, offering a firsthand look at how services are delivered and where support is needed most. Pastries 4 Partners is a group tour hosted at 2 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. Prospective volunteers tour the facility and enjoy pastries while brainstorming ideas on how they can help.
A lasting impact
For Thomas, the most meaningful moments come months after a first visit, when parents return with their babies, more confident and settled than when they first walked through the doors.
A moment of uncertainty can transform into something entirely different: stability, connection and a renewed sense of possibility.
