Navigating an unexpected pregnancy can bring a rush of questions, uncertainty and sudden decisions. In Fort Worth, Pregnancy Help 4 U steps in to help, offering cost-free medical services, practical resources and long-term support for women and men.
Community Impact spoke with Executive Director Tonya Thomas to learn more about the services they offer, how they meet local needs and the ways community members can get involved.
Q: What programs and services does Pregnancy Help 4 U currently offer, and what needs do they meet?
Thomas: As of October 2026, Pregnancy Help 4 U offers pregnancy testing, sonograms, options counseling, parenting education, baby supplies and material assistance, information and support related to abortion pill reversal, and optional spiritual services.
Our goal is to meet women and men at a critical point—often when they are facing an unexpected pregnancy and trying to determine what comes next. Pregnancy testing and sonograms provide important early information, while options counseling gives clients a safe place to process their circumstances and consider their next steps.
Our support continues well beyond that initial appointment. Through parenting classes, ongoing encouragement, referrals and practical resources, such as diapers, wipes, formula and other baby essentials, we help moms and dads gain confidence, become better equipped to parent and develop a plan for moving forward.
For clients who desire spiritual support, we also have the opportunity to share the hope found in Jesus Christ through biblical counseling and other spiritual services.
We also provide information and support for women who have taken the first medication in a chemical abortion, and then experience a change of heart and want to explore whether continuing the pregnancy may still be possible. Through our care and support with the abortion pill reversal protocol, five babies have been born following successful treatment.

Q: How do you decide which programs and services to offer?
Thomas: We pay close attention to the needs of our community and look for gaps in the pregnancy-care journey where families may need additional support.
For example, many women who come to us want a sonogram because knowing how far along they are is an important piece of information as they consider their pregnancy options. That need helped shape our medical services.
We also identified delayed access to prenatal care as a challenge for some of the women we serve, so we began helping eligible moms apply for pregnancy Medicaid and connecting them with appropriate health care resources.
We have also learned that a woman’s partner can have a significant influence on how supported and confident she feels during an unexpected pregnancy. Because of that, we expanded our services for fathers, so men can receive education, encouragement and practical support as they prepare for the responsibilities of fatherhood.
As needs change, we continue asking where families are struggling and how Pregnancy Help 4 U can help fill those gaps.

Q: What does a typical client experience look like, from the first point of contact through receiving resources and support?
Thomas: A client’s first contact with Pregnancy Help 4 U may happen online through our 24/7 live nurse chat. We assess her immediate needs and work to schedule an appointment as quickly as possible.
When she arrives at our center, she may receive a pregnancy test and meet with a client advocate. Our client advocates serve as a bridge to care by listening to each person’s unique circumstances and connecting her with the services, resources or community referrals that best fit her needs.
When appropriate, a registered nurse then meets with the client and performs a sonogram to help determine gestational age, provide education about fetal development, and discuss important health information for pregnancy.
For many moms and dads, the sonogram is the first time they see their baby or hear the heartbeat. It can be a deeply meaningful moment that helps make the pregnancy feel real and gives parents an opportunity to begin connecting with their child.
From there, we help families navigate their next steps. Parenting classes are available both during pregnancy and after the baby is born for moms and dads, with both online and in-person options. Families may also receive diapers, wipes, formula and other essential baby items as their child grows into the toddler years.
Our hope is that no one feels they have to navigate a pregnancy-related challenge alone.

Q: What volunteer opportunities are available for the community to support your mission, and how can people become volunteers?
Thomas: There are several ways people can volunteer with Pregnancy Help 4 U, including both administrative and client-services opportunities.
Administrative volunteers may help organize baby supplies, prepare client resources, assist with materials and support the everyday operations that make our services possible.
Client advocates provide one-on-one care to women and men who may be facing difficult or overwhelming circumstances. Because of the sensitive nature of this work, client advocates complete a more extensive application, screening and training process before serving directly with clients.
Anyone interested in volunteering can begin by attending a volunteer interest meeting with our Client Services Director (email [email protected]) to learn more about available opportunities and determine where their gifts may be the best fit.
Q: For people who want to support the organization financially, what does a donation help make possible and how can they donate?
Thomas: Donations make it possible for Pregnancy Help 4 U to provide our services to clients completely free of charge.
A donor’s gift helps provide pregnancy tests, sonograms, parenting education, baby supplies, ongoing client support and access to highly qualified medical and client-care professionals. Donations also help us provide these services in a peaceful, welcoming medical environment where people can feel cared for rather than judged during what may be one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
Ultimately, financial support gives moms and dads hope, practical help and compassionate care as they navigate pregnancy-related challenges. It allows us to walk alongside families so they feel supported and equipped as they consider life-affirming paths such as parenting or adoption.
Supporters can donate through Pregnancy Help 4 U’s website (www.ph4upartners.org/donate) or contact our office to learn about additional opportunities for giving and partnership.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about the future of Pregnancy Help 4 U?
Thomas: One of the things we are most excited about is expanding our medical services so we can continue closing gaps in care for the women and families we serve.
We are especially exploring a midwife model of care that could provide additional support for new and expectant mothers. Our vision is to create an even stronger continuum of care—from the moment a woman discovers she is pregnant through pregnancy, childbirth preparation and the early stages of parenting.
As Pregnancy Help 4 U grows, we want to continue responding to the real needs of families in our community, while providing excellent medical care, practical resources, education, encouragement and hope.
