Holiday magic returns to Trinity Falls in McKinney with free annual Tour of Trees

The holiday season is a time for making memories, celebrating traditions and gathering with loved ones. At Trinity Falls in McKinney, those traditions come to life through festive Christmas trees, beautifully decorated model homes and holiday cheer.

Returning for its seventh year, Trinity Falls' free annual Tour of Trees invites families throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area to explore 10 creatively decorated Christmas trees from Nov. 14-Dec. 13 while discovering the homes and lifestyle offered within the growing master-planned community.

Since launching in 2020, the event has become a beloved holiday tradition for returning visitors and families experiencing Trinity Falls for the first time.

"What makes this event so enjoyable is that it's more than just a home tour. It's an experience families can share together," Director of Marketing C'Ella Clayton said.

What can visitors expect at the 2026 Trinity Falls Tour of Trees?

During the Tour of Trees, participating model homes become festive destinations, each featuring a uniquely decorated Christmas tree designed to spark imagination and holiday excitement.

Visitors can begin at any participating model home, pick up a Tour of Trees map and explore the displays at their own pace.

This year’s visitors can discover Trinity Falls' newest model homes, Chesmar Courtyards from Chesmar Homes, featuring four models designed around comfort, connection and low-maintenance living.

"It's not just about seeing what our builders have to offer," Clayton said. "It's about imagining the holidays, family traditions and everyday moments they could enjoy in a home at Trinity Falls."

What Christmas tree themes will be featured this year?

From nostalgic holiday classics to imaginative pop culture displays, creativity is at the heart of the Tour of Trees.

Previous years have featured trees inspired by cowboy living and popular movies such as “Wicked” and “Spider-Man.” The designs have generated more than 3 million views on social media, attracting attention from global audiences, according to Clayton.

For 2026, visitors can look forward to another collection of whimsical, nostalgic and elegantly decorated trees, designed by Christmas tree stylist and social media influencer Antoinette Boston of A.B.'s Holiday Décor in collaboration with Premier Christmas.

"We love finding themes that bring out a little nostalgia, celebrate favorite holiday traditions and spark the imagination of both children and adults," Clayton said.

Clayton said a highlight of this year’s tour will be a New York-inspired Christmas tree celebrating iconic holiday toy stores such as FAO Schwarz, capturing the excitement of childhood Christmas wishes.

What is the Tour of Trees photo contest?

When they’re done admiring the decorations, visitors can become part of the festivities through Trinity Falls' annual holiday photo contest.

Families are encouraged to capture and share creative photos alongside their favorite Christmas trees for a chance to win one of two $500 Amazon gift cards.

The contest has become a popular part of the event, Clayton said; in 2025, the Tour of Trees welcomed more than 2,500 visitors and received over 200 photo submissions. Each tree offers a different backdrop for families to capture their favorite moments.

"While everyone enjoys the opportunity to win a prize, we think the real reward is the memories families create along the way," Clayton said.

How does Tour of Trees showcase life at Trinity Falls?

While the Christmas trees are the main attraction, the Tour of Trees also gives visitors a glimpse of the lifestyle and sense of community that make Trinity Falls special.

The 2,000-acre master-planned community offers a variety of home designs, scenic natural surroundings, parks and trails, resort-style amenities and year-round events that bring neighbors together.

The Tour of Trees reflects the community's commitment to creating meaningful experiences and lasting connections.

"There's something about the holidays that makes a house truly feel like a home," Clayton said. "When you walk into a beautifully decorated living room with a Christmas tree glowing in the corner, you can almost picture your own family gathering there."

In addition to plenty of holiday decorating inspiration, the Tour of Trees offers an opportunity to envision the memories, traditions and everyday moments families could create in a home at Trinity Falls.

“Tour of Trees offers a glimpse of all of that, wrapped in a little holiday magic,” Clayton said.
