When summer hits Texas, parents start looking for two things: ways to entertain kids and air conditioning.
Flix Brewhouse has both covered with Camp Flix, its $5 summer movie series running June through August. With family favorites, sensory-friendly screenings, and $5 kids meals every Tuesday, the program offers an affordable and low-stress outing for families all summer long.
A summer movie tradition
Camp Flix will feature one film each week on Tuesdays, with rotating showtimes throughout the summer. From June through August, every ticket is just $5. That means a family movie day doesn’t have to turn into a blockbuster-sized expense.
The full lineup includes Sing 2, The Lego Movie, Paddington, The Muppet Movie, The Land Before Time, Sonic the Hedgehog, and more.
The goal is to create an easy, affordable outing families can look forward to all summer, pairing beloved childhood favorites with newer family hits.

A more inclusive movie experience
While Camp Flix centers on younger audiences, it falls under the theater’s broader Flix Junior program—an initiative to make movies more accessible for everyone.
It includes dimmed lighting and lower volume levels, creating a sensory-friendly environment for guests who may find traditional moviegoing overwhelming.
“It’s designed to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone, whether it’s your first or 100th movie,” said Summer Hasan, Director of Marketing and Brand.
The program has resonated with parents navigating outings with young children.
“I know that bringing a toddler to the movies can feel like a gamble sometimes,” Hasan said. “We wanted to create an experience where families can relax a little more and just enjoy being together.”
Flix for all
Despite the name, Flix Junior isn’t limited to children.
“Anyone who might benefit from a less stimulating environment is welcome to come,” Hasan said.
Camp Flix appeals to families, first-time moviegoers, those with sensitive ears, and anyone looking for a more relaxed theater environment.
More than a movie
Like everything at Flix Brewhouse, the experience goes beyond the screen.
The Flix Junior umbrella also extends to first-run family films during the weekend, with titles like Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, and Moana. True to Flix form, the theater chain also has special family-focused offerings planned throughout the summer, including activities, collectible popcorn tins, limited-edition swag, house-made sodas, and themed menus tied to major releases.
