Trust me, I know how scary it is to open up your favorite free monthly publication and to notice a new face you’ve never seen before in the editor’s spot. But you and your neighborhood are in good hands! I’ve worked with Community Impact Newspaper’s Lake Travis-Westlake edition for the previous two years, and I am excited to be working with our Southwest Austin team. I’ll make sure we continue to get the latest, most accurate news out to everyone in the area. This month our reporter Luz Moreno-Lozano updates readers on the ongoing SH 45 SW Toll project, and reporter Christopher Neely dives into challenges area residents are facing as they age in Austin. As for me, here’s a little bit about myself: I was born on Long Island, N.Y., and moved to South Florida when I was five. After graduating from Florida State University I moved to Minnesota to be a reporter. After my third winter in the Midwest I moved to Austin to escape the cold. I love living in a city with as much history and culture as Austin, and I’m excited to be exploring a new part of the city with all of you.
