Voters in the Austin Community College District will choose candidates this November for three of the nine seats on the ACC board of trustees. The board positions are at-large seats, elected by voters throughout the taxing district for six-year terms to provide leadership for the community college. Julie Ann Nitsch, a political activist and former ACC student and employee, was elected in 2016 to serve the remaining two years of trustee Allen Kaplan's term after Kaplan resigned his position. She will face Lora H. Weber, who served 25 years in Texas government, including nine as Director of External Relations for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
