Christmas is right around the corner. Here is a list of municipal offices that are closed for the holiday along with details on the modified holiday schedules of Capital Metro.
City of Austin offices
City of Austin administrative offices and other municipal facilities will be closed Friday and Monday. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday. All recreation centers, senior centers, museums and cultural arts centers will be closed from Friday until Monday and on Jan. 1. City golf courses and Barton Springs Pool will remain open to the public during the holidays but will not be staffed on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.
Trash pickup
Trash, recycling and yard trimmings collection for Austin Resource Recovery customers will remain on schedule during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Austin Public Library System
All Austin Public Library branches will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and will remain closed Friday through Dec. 26 for Christmas. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The libraries will also be closed Jan. 1 and 2.
