The new sidewalk on Mercer Street and Hwy. 290 opened for public use Sept. 15.
The details
The Mercer Street sidewalk project extends from the intersection of North Rob Shelton Boulevard and Hwy. 290, continues along Hwy. 290 through downtown Dripping Springs, and ends at the south intersection of Mercer Street and RR 12.
The city has also installed a raised crosswalk on Mercer Street and two pedestrian crossing beacons to help pedestrians navigate the area more safely. Temporary barricades have been put in place until custom handrails are installed next month.
