The Dripping Springs City Council voted to cancel its planned May election as all three candidates are running unopposed.
The council voted to cancel the election at its March 1 meeting following the candidate filing period that ended Feb. 18 for the three seats that included the mayor and two council members.
The Texas Election code allows a governing body to cancel an election if candidates are unchallenged.
Mayor Bill Foulds and Council Member Place 2 Wade King will hold onto their positions. Former City Council Member Travis Crow will take Place 4, which Council Member April Harris Allison currently holds. Crow previously represented council’s at-large position 5, before being defeated by then-challenger Sherrie Parks in 2021.
