Dripping Springs ISD officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for High School No. 2 on April 13 near Cypress Springs Elementary School.
“The second high school is more than a response to a growing population,” DSISD board member Stefani Reinold said. “It is a promise that we will not let our standards dilute as our numbers increase.”
The big picture
The district has been planning for a second high school for several years as a response to growing enrollment. According to a demographic presentation by Population and Survey Analysts, DSISD added over 1,500 students in the past five years and over 3,000 students in the past 10 years. There are currently approximately 8,800 students enrolled in DSISD, according to the report.
