Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery opens in far South Austin

South Austin now has a new Chinese takeout spot with the opening of Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery's newest location.

Tso Chinese opened near the corner of Menchaca Road and Slaughter Lane on April 18. Founded in 2017, the brand offers Chinese-American takeout and delivery, and has a no-tipping policy.

"We're excited to expand further into South Austin and reach even more neighborhoods with our takeout and delivery model," said Min Choe, CEO and co-founder of Tso Chinese, in a news release. "Our goal is to make quality, affordable Chinese-American food more accessible, and this new location is another step in that mission."

What they offer

Guests can order online or through third-party platforms like Uber Eats, DoorDash and Favor. The Menchaca location features a new self-service ordering kiosk for walk-in guests.

Tso Chinese's menu includes signature items like General Tso Chicken and World Famous Blue Crab Rangoons, as well as classic favorites like orange chicken and veggie potstickers.

This is the Austin-based brand's fifth location in the Austin area and second in South Austin.

According to the release, a grand opening celebration with traditional lion dance performance, complimentary food tastings and more is planned for later this spring.
