When local heath officials eventually reopen playgrounds and other city of Austin park amenities, residents in Circle C Ranch can look forward to using a new playground in their neighborhood metropolitan park.
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is putting the finishing touches on a new playground at Circle C Metropolitan Park, located at 6301 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin.
According to the city, installation of the new playground equipment began in May and will be completed by the end of September. The playground was funded through the city of Austin’s 2018 bond, which outlined $149 million for parks and recreation across the city.
The previous park equipment has been in place since the early 1990s, and the new playground will be Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant. The playground will includes a playsets for children ages 2-5, a playset for ages 5-12 and a swingset feature, according to the department.
