About the owner
Merfolk's Specialty Coffee will serve coffee and tea with a focus on specialty brewing. Founder and owner Justin Monroe said his passion for coffee began when he worked at one of the Starbucks Reserve stores in Seattle, a program of Starbucks that offers more high quality coffees and special brewing methods compared to a typical Starbucks.
Monroe became interested in the "alchemy" of perfecting a cup of coffee when he worked at Dolce Neve Gelato on South First Street. He said there, he learned everything about running a small business.
