A new neighborhood bar is now open in what was previously Crow Bar on South Congress Avenue.
The specifics
The Wheel South, a second location of East Austin's bicycle-themed bar, opened on Feb. 26. The new bar is a product of FBR Management, the hospitality group behind Lala’s Little Nugget, Gibson Street Bar, Sign Bar and Mean-Eyed Cat.
The space at 3116 S. Congress Ave., Austin, was previously occupied by Crow Bar, which caught on fire and had to be demolished in 2023, according to previous Community Impact reporting. FBR Management rebuilt the structure.
